University admissions have become much more competitive as the pursuit of postsecondary education has become more common. The National Center for Education Statistics estimates that over 20 million students were enrolled at American colleges and universities in 2015, an increase of 20% since 2003. In 2013, almost two-thirds (65.9%) of all high school students enrolled in an undergraduate degree program immediately after graduation. With a larger pool of students, universities have become more selective, especially the higher-ranked schools. This higher degree of selectivity is reflected in average SAT score increases at most institutions. At Stanford University, for example, the 25th-percentile composite SAT score for accepted students was 2000 in the 2006-07 school year. By 2015-16, Stanford's 25th-percentile score had grown to 2080. These increases have taken place while SAT scores for all test-takers have remained relatively stable (the overall average SAT reading/verbal score was 500 in 1990, 505 in 2000, and 501 in 2010). Students who wish to gain acceptance to selective schools must now devote more effort to SAT preparation in order to stand out from their peers.

I like his walkthrough of the problems. Also the strategies he gave. It helped me improve my English and writing. I went up on my SAT scores.
